A storyboard is used in addition to a sitemap to help make decisions about design, technology and budget. A good storyboard provides a clear overview of the website being created to all people involved in the project. The storyboard does not show all the individual pages of the website because it only covers the important functional parts of the website. The board does not contain information about the visual design of the pages, but it does give an idea of what the main elements are on each page. A storyboard, just like a sitemap, can be created using pencil and paper or some graphics programme.
